Product Description

The lamb chump steak is lamb's answer to the beef rump steak. Cut from the rump region where the leg meets the loin; this cut tends to be a bit firmer, more plump and relatively leaner than other available cuts. An impressive cut when cooking for occasions.

Our fresh boneless lamb chump steaks are cut to approximately 4-6oz (113-170g) and come in packs of either 500g, 1kg or 2.5kg.



Keep refrigerated below 4°C.

1-2cm thick steaks for 4-6 minutes on each side and steaks over 2cm thick for 6-8 minutes on each side.

Cooking Instructions

Grill / BBQ

  • Pre-heat grill / BBQ to a high heat.
  • Place lamb chump steaks on the grill.
  • Depending on steak thickness, cook for...
    • 1-2cm: 4-6 minutes each side.
    • 2-3cm: 6-8 minutes each side.
  • Remove lamb chump steaks and leave to rest for 5 minutes before serving.


Instructions: 400°F-200°C

  • Preheat oven.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and seal the lamb chump steaks (3 minutes each side) on a high heat.
  • Transfer lamb loin chops to an oven proof dish.
  • Depending on preferences, cook for...
    • Rare: 15-20 minutes.
    • Well done: 30 minutes.
  • Remove lamb chump steaks and leave to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Top Tip: Lamb chump steak is best served pink.

Freezing Guidelines

  • Suitable for home freezing.
  • Freeze as soon as possible after purchase.


  • Defrost thoroughly.
  • Do not refreeze and use on same day once defrosted.
  • Do not cook from frozen.
