Product Description

Cut from the lower back of the cow, rump is typically enjoyed as a steak but can also comfortably accommodate a roasting recipe.  Lower in cost than sirloin and makes a perfect everyday steak.

Cut to either 6oz (170g), 8oz (227g), or a formidable 10oz (283g).

Keep refrigerated.

Cooking Instructions

Fry (From Chilled):

    • Season the steak and add a splash of oil to the pan. Heat the oil and cook for the following approximated times depending on steak size:
      • 6oz (170g):
        • Rare: 2-3 minutes each side.
        • Medium: 3-5 minutes each side.
        • Well done: 5+ minutes each side.
      • 8oz (227g):
        • Rare: 3-4 minutes each side.
        • Medium: 4-6 minutes each side.
        • Well done: 6+ minutes each side.
      • 10oz (283g):
        • Rare: 3-4 minutes each side.
        • Medium: 4-6 minutes each side.
        • Well done: 6+ minutes each side.
    • Remove from pan and rest on a warm plate for a few minutes

Top Tip: Rump steaks enjoys being served with a blue cheese sauce.

Freezing Guidelines

  • Suitable for home freezing.
  • Freeze as soon as possible after purchase.

Defrosting

  • Defrost thoroughly.
  • Do not refreeze and use on same day once defrosted.
  • Do not cook from frozen.
